ABOUT US

VAKRATUNDA PARIWAR

WELCOME

Since its inception in 2006, VAKRATUNDA PARIWAR has grown to become a symbol of cultural pride and unity in latur. Founded by Mr. Kedar Varma, the organization was born out of a vision — to bring together people from all sections of society and channel their passion for Lord Ganesha (Bappa) through the traditional art of Dhol Tasha.

Our name, Vakratunda, reflects the powerful roar of drums that echoes through latur during Ganeshotsav and other spiritual celebrations. It is not just music — it is devotion in rhythm, discipline in movement, and unity in tradition.

What began as a passionate group with 60 Dhols, 10 Tashas, and 20 other insturments members, has today grown into a vibrant force of 100+ Dhols, 15+ Tashas, and 30+ other insturment members. Starting with just 50 members aged between 10 to 65, VAKRATUNDA now proudly comprises over 800 members, with significant and ever-increasing participation from women—a true reflection of inclusivity and unity.
